Giorgio di Maio is a classical and modern pianist, keyboardist, composer and arranger from Sicily.

He has been practicing as a piano and keyboard teacher since 2009.

Holder of the chair of music at I.C. Antonio Ugo in Palermo; teacher of piano, composition and

music history for the basic courses of the conservatory "A.Scontrino" of Trapani at the "L.Gianì" theater in Partinico; RSL lecturer for Rock School courses in London.

 

He touched his first keys at age five. At nine, he entered the conservatory where he studied composition and score reading, graduating in piano with honors under Giovanna De Gregorio.

He later refined his study with Maestros R. Plano and G. Andaloro.

Winner of various European prizes and awards, even as a boy he collaborated with various pillars of Sicilian classical music, as well as teachers at the "G.Verdi" conservatory in Milan,

where he studied for two years.

Among the most highly regarded teachers in the area, he boasts to date a very high number

of students, some of them winners of prestigious national competitions.

Engaged in many projects around Italy, he has had the opportunity to play with

distinguished figures of European fame:

he has shared the stage with Luigi Fontana, Giandomenico Anellino, Mario Venuti.

Aurora Padalino, Stefano Piazza, Gianni Nanfa and Daria Biancardi, thus taking him around Europe; playing for RTL 102. 5, on behalf of Sky Arte HD in Lampedusa,

at Castello Ursino (Catania) for the U.S. Ambassador, at the municipal swimming pool in Palermo on the occasion of the Italy-Russia World Swimming Ball Championship live on Rai Sport,

at the "Parco Auditorium della Musica" in Rome, at the "Waas.che-Fabrik" in Geisenheim (Germany) and at the double date in Pompeii at the "Di Costanzo Mattiello" Theater.

 

Author of "Lasidoremi": a collection of thirteen piano preludes,

published by "Crehathor" publishing house.

Author of the album of the same name distributed by "Apogeo Digital Hall" on all digital platforms, presented onMay 29, 2022 at the Real Teatro Santa Cecilia.

Author of the manual "History of Music in Brief," published by "Nària" publishing house.

His music is performed by many pianists around the world, but in particular it is used as a setting for films and documentaries, many of them broadcast on Rai1.

 

He has been collaborating for some time with Algam Eko as a Product Artist for the

Nord Keyboards brand, Korg and Studiologic.
